INTRODUCTION TO CERI
The Centre for Excellence in Research and Innovation (CERI) is established with the following goal and objectives.
CERI's Goal
To play a pivotal role in spearheading and advancing a rigorous Research & Development and Commercialization (R&D&C) programme and effective management of R&D&C at FCUC.
CERI's Objectives
The objectives of CERI are to:
- Inculcate a strong research culture within the Campus Community.
- Formulate Policies, Guidelines and Procedures related to research & development and commercialization.
- Promoted and encourage multi-disciplinary research and innovation activities.
- Monitor the implementation of research and commercialization projects.
- Promoted commercialization of research findings and output.
- Explore opportunities for collaborative research with industry, government agencies, public and private institutions.
- Seek funding, internally and externally, for research initiatives/activities and the commercialization of research findings and output.
- Encourage staff and students to actively publish academic and research papers.
- Identify infrastructure, facilities and resources necessary to support research and development.
- Undertake any task and responsibility to fulfil the goal and objectives of CERI.
ORGANISATION OF CERI
CERI consists of three operational units. They are the following:
- Research Management Centre
The function of the Research Management Centre (RMC) is to manage the research activities within the FCUC.
- Postgraduate Centre
The function of Postgraduate Centre is to support the Registrar Office on managing the postgraduate students' research activity withing the FCUC.
- Intellectual Property and Commercialization Centre
The Intellectual Property and Commercialization Centre is to manage the patent and commercialization, and intellectual property matters within the FCUC.
